Sage Educators Approach

At Sage Educators, we believe …

  • The best way to learn is one-on-one. Period. Learning is personal. Everyone learns differently. What works for Jim doesn’t necessarily work for Sue.
  • Teachers have been charged with doing more than is possible in a classroom setting. They can’t explain every point 30 or 300 different ways.
  • The student-teacher relationship is pivotal in determining how a student approaches learning, and how well that student will learn.

One-On-One Tutoring

The most effective style of learning is through personalized one-on-one instruction. Students are matched with a Sage Educator for the entire school year ensuring a true mentorship and enabling tutors to tailor their instruction to the student’s particular strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. One-on-one tutoring can be conducted in our local learning centers, or online.

Small Group Tutoring

Students can create their own small group (2-3 students) with classmates or friends. Students in the same classes often enjoy reinforcing academic skills in a group setting. Sage offers small group customized tutoring for all subjects, such as math, science, foreign language, reading, writing, test prep and more. We offer a price break for small group sessions in order to bring down the cost for the whole. Small group tutoring can be conducted in our local learning centers, or online.

Study Groups

Sage Educators Homework and Study

Sage offers subject-specific study groups year-round, as well as two end-of-semester finals study groups. We build groups based on need and commonly requested areas of study, however, students may request a study group or create their own small group. Students can reserve a space in advance or drop-in weekly.

Sage holds special hours and broader study groups the weeks leading up to high school final exams. Schedules are posted on our website ahead of time for students to RSVP.

Homework Study Lounge

We’ve created a safe, distraction-free, productive environment, in which your student can study for an upcoming test, shore up tough concepts, or just finish the night’s homework before heading home. Students can utilize the offices on either side of their sessions and set up consistent schedules to book the days they’re planning on attending so we can monitor and help when needed. Sage Educators: Winning the homework wars, one assignment at a time.

College Advising

Sage offers thorough guidance for every step of the college application process. From the college application essay to the paperwork process and ultimately choosing a college and department that’s a right fit for them, we’re here to help. We offer one-on-one assistance throughout the school year and summer in order to help students no matter which stage they’re in.

Test Prep

From the SSAT, HSPT to the PSAT, SAT, and ACT, today’s myriad of standardized tests can confound even the most confident students.

Fortunately, we’ve had plenty of experience guiding students and parents through this academic obstacle course. At Sage, we teach both test-taking strategies and academic skills, that help students to fulfill their potential—and achieve the elusive higher scores they desire. This holistic approach ensures that each lesson will serve our students well beyond testing.

We offer year-round test prep tutoring in the following settings: one-on-one, small group, prep classes, remote test prep, and summer boot camps.

Summer Academic Workshops

This summer, break the cycle and train your student’s brain at Sage! Choose from our customized one-on-one and small-group tutoring, academic workshops in math, reading, and writing, or get a jump start on test prep with our boot camps for the SSAT, ACT, and SAT. You can count on our caring and experienced staff to help your student build skills and confidence for the year ahead.
