We call it Sage Academy: an exciting mix of workshops, labs, and classes designed to challenge and inspire our students each summer break. Intensive and fun, Creative Writing Workshops offer young writers in-depth instruction on the art and craft of fiction and poetry writing. In Science Exploration Labs, kids investigate topics from kitchen chemistry to rockets. Finally, our Academic Bridge Classes—in math, foreign language, essay-writing, and more—close the gap between last school year and the year ahead.
- No grades. No red pens. Just the perfect setting to kindle the creative spark.
Each summer, in the Sage Academy Creative Writing Workshops, kids learn advanced fiction- and poetry-writing skills in the collaborative, supportive, and stimulating workshop environment. They benefit from frequent, specific feedback from teachers who are writers themselves—and receive one-on-one support in instructor “office hours.” Students produce work to be published in our summer literary magazine, and have the opportunity to learn about writing and publishing in college and beyond. Most important, each student gains the confidence to develop a unique voice as a writer.
