Alexandra Ruelas
Alexandra Ruelas attended the University of Southern California,
where she received a B.S. degree in neuroscience. As an undergraduate,
she was a U.S.C. Latino Alumni Association Scholar, an Undergraduate
Research Associate, and a member of the famed Trojan Marching Band
Color Guard. Additionally, as a tutor in the university’s Joint Education
Project Readers Plus Program, she worked with elementary school students
in reading and math along with providing general homework help.
Following her undergraduate education, Alexandra earned her master’s
degree in teaching at U.S.C. She served as Site Coordinator and Enrichment
Director for the RISE after-school program, tutoring 6th-8th graders in math, science, social
studies, and language arts and designing enrichment activities for middle school students.
Although she hails from Southern California, Alexandra is enjoying her new home in the
Bay Area. At Sage, she specializes in working with elementary, middle, and early high
school students. In her free time, she can be found reading, running, exploring the
outdoors, and enjoying her favorite guilty pleasure, Grey’s Anatomy.
