At Sage Educators, our philosophy is that one-on-one, individualized attention is the path to success in the classroom and beyond. We aim to offer each of our students a personalized, positive educational experience to help them reach their academic goals.

This customized learning approach is one that is difficult to achieve in the classroom. Teachers are rarely able to give students the individual attention that today’s students need to flourish. While other ‘learning centers’ advertise to concerned parents and the educational community as the solution to these problems, they often follow similarly rigid approaches which befall typical classroom settings. Sage Educators intends to break the trend of standardization and serve each of our students with the approach that best fits their educational needs.

Sage Educators was created by William and Jaime Heaps. The Mill Valley couple, originally from the Washington, DC area, earned their bachelors degrees at Virginia Tech and went on to graduate school at the University of Amsterdam in The Netherlands. In Amsterdam, William and Jaime studied International Politics and earned their Masters degrees in History.

Upon their return from Amsterdam, William and Jaime both found jobs in the field of education -- William as a tutor at a prominent Washington, DC learning center, and Jaime as a middle-school teacher and IEP (individualized education plan) coordinator. After two years in Washington, the couple moved to Mill Valley to start Sage Educators, where they believe their individualized, personal approach to teaching will translate nicely to the benefit of Mill Valley students.

William and Jaime are very grateful for the hospitality and support they have received from the community and are very excited to start working with the kids!
